Aging Skin

Your skin is your body’s first line of defense against the sun, harsh weather, and other forms of environmental assault. How your skin ages depend on a variety of factors including your lifestyle, diet, heredity, and other personal habits. Skin changes come with age. Over time your skin may become rougher or develop lesions. The natural loss of the elastic tissue causes the skin to hang loosely; skin may become more transparent, more fragile, and is more easily bruised. Loss of fat below the skin in the cheeks, temples, chin, nose, and eyes may result in loosening skin, and sunken eyes. Exposure to sunlight is the biggest culprit in aging skin. Nothing can completely undo sun damage, although the skin can sometimes repair itself.
